FAQ

If you're asking that question, then the answer is probably yes and you should call SNG Electrical Services to set up a visit. Common symptoms of a faulty electrical system are flickering lights, outlets that don't work, and blown circuit breakers.

Yes, SNG Electrical has a limited 2-year workmanship and product warranty on anything we supply and install. Service and quality you can trust well beyond installation.

It can be. While many electrical panels do produce vibrations that can create a light buzzing sound, there are other, more serious, potential causes. A loose wire or faulty circuit breaker can also generate a buzz and both should be fixed by a professional electrician.

If you weren't expecting a scheduled outage, then the first step is to call your Cambridge and surrounding areas electrical provider and make sure there's no maintenance work going on. If the issue is isolated to your property and not those around you, call us for immediate service.

It really depends on the work that needs to be done, such as whether there are existing lines or not. For all electrical installations, we work on a case-by-case basis and can only offer a price once we know the specifics of your job.

The most common cause of a circuit breaker that trips repeatedly is an overloaded circuit, such as when too many appliances are connected to the same line. Try to identify what is drawing power at the time of the tripping issue and call us for a quick and easy solution.

DIY electrical work is never recommended, it can be dangerous and may lead to safety hazards, code violations, or voided warranties. For your protection, always hire a licensed electrician like SNG Electrical Services to ensure the job is done safely and correctly.

Yes. Under the updated 2024 Ontario Electrical Safety Code, many hot tubs and pools now require a ground grid or copper bonding ring around the installation area. This system helps equalize electrical potential around the water, reducing the risk of shock hazards and ensuring the installation meets ESA safety standards.

Before any concrete pad, pavers, deck base, or landscaping is installed, the grounding and bonding components must be placed first. If this step is missed, homeowners often face costly tear‑outs, delays, and failed inspections. Always contact a licensed electrician early to ensure the bonding layout is planned correctly.

ESA has tightened enforcement because improperly bonded hot tubs and pools can create dangerous stray voltage around wet areas. The new rules help prevent shock hazards, reduce safety risks, and ensure all outdoor installations meet modern electrical standards. Proper bonding is no longer optional — it's required for safety and for passing inspection.
